Travel | Life Cube Project, Las Vegas Nevada

Finally wrapping up shot of our trip to Las Vegas with a really cool project that we only learned about after we arrived in Vegas from our friends Mali Mish called The Life Cube Project. Given the nature of this very unique art and community undertaking it was a now or never moment that we needed to experience that we knew immediately we had to see before it was gone!

The Life Cube Project has a Burning Man inspired theme where the mastermind behind the installation, Scott Cohen, had done this before but never in an urban space. Many artists help bring the cube to life including muralist LA Christina Angelina, metal worker Anthony Calderone and Steve “Mowgli” Moffett, a Las Vegas artist who created a PacMan board on the floor of the cube just to name a few. Visitors were also encouraged to become part of the project as well by enhancing the artwork themselves (there was even paint and chalk provided on site for people to do so!) The night we arrived there was even a DJ spinning while people milled about taking photographs, chatting and even using the provided art utensils to leave their mark.

Much like at Burning Man the cube was to meet a fiery farewell, ignited less than a week ago on Friday March 21, 2014 everyone’s hopes, dreams, love and inspiration were sent into the universe where they could live forever. It was such an amazing site, I am really thankful we were able to be a small part of this inspiring moment and getting to see the progress now and years to come for the Las Vegas Downtown Revitalization Project!
