Northwoods Life | Cheese, It’s a Way of Life in Wisconsin

So I’m sure many people know that Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland.... happy cow’s from California? Please! All 52 American Master Cheese Makers live in Wisconsin. A common appetizer for any party highbrow or low… cheese. Solo dinner and don’t feel like cooking… cheese. Condiment for breakfast, lunch, dinner or the occasional slice of apple pie… cheese!

We love everything from creamy blues to aged sharper cheddar that is almost crystalized to the slightly fruity, caramelized blend of a crumbly parmesan…. What’s really funny is I don’t think anyone in our house has a favorite cheese though we do have a few favorite cheese markers including Satori from near by Antigo, Vern’s from Chilton and Carr Valley (which I don’t have pictured of since sadly on this given day I didn’t have any but we LOVE the Carr Valley Black Sheep Truffle.) It’s funny when that it is not unusual for us (or any other respectable Wisconsinite) to have 2-5 different types of cheese in our cheese drawer (and YES we call it a cheese drawer in the fridge and we USE IT!)

We just can’t get enough! What is your favorite cheese?? Oh and YES we pair cheese with beer ALL of the time... I will save that for a later post!
